How does the motor asist you?

In our Smart Para model the mortor starts when you acelerate from the left handle or with the movement of the cranks. The acelerator also is used as help starter, in fact, when you start to move the cranks the acelerator is not working, it is canceled.

In our Smart Tetra also exits the help starter, with a button to press with the chin which turn on the motor during three seconds, time enough to continue with the cranks and conect the motor with throw the movement sensor.

How many kilometers of autonomy can you get with the Smart Handbikes?

Depending on power you add from your arms, the power you power you chose on the control box and the amount of connected batteries (max. 3 batheries) and the amperage, autonomy goes from 35 to 105 km in a flat area.

Why are the two cranks in parallel?

With the Stricker handbikes you don't propel only youurself with your arms, also use cranks for turning. Then, it's very important that your handles are to the same distance, in parallel. The safety is basic for us. You could not turn easily if a handle had in front and the other behind.

How many kind of cranks are there?

Any user has different measures, so we have to adjust the handbike to user, also it is important the width and the length of the cranks. You can choose between normal Stricker cranks, wide Stricker cranks and cranks short cranks with two positions.

For example, wider Stricker cranks in forged aluminium measuring 18 cm in length, distance between base of cranks 37 cm and distance between base of fits 57,50 cm.

Which is the correct position of the hands, arms and body?

It is very important to feel comfortable. Stricker frame is a tubular system allows you to adjust the position of the cranks and the elevation of the casters in the optimal way. You don't have to stretch your arms when the handles are in the farthest position. And it isn't good move up the cranks very high, is double effort. Also our ergonomic handles keep your wrists in the best position.

Can I choose between diferent size of wheels?

You can choose between 16", 20" or 24" wheel.

How many speeds have the Hybrid Stricker Handbikes?

You can choose between 8, 16 or 24 gears.

 

How many autonomy can you get with the electric handbikes?

Depending on the amount of connected batteries and the amperage, autonomy goes from 25 to 70 km.

How many models of electric handbikes are there?

We offer you Lipo Lomo Series and Electrodrive Series. Actually, the most famous model is Lipo Lomo by its greater autonomy and its variety of options. And too the Lipo Lomo Micro, the smaller variant of the Lipo Lomo (with wheel 12"), presented at the end of 2014.

We also offer you model Electrodrive by its engine brake and the possibility of installing one of the adaptations Tetra system Wig Wag, which is the most sensitive adaptation of the market for people with quadriplegia. You can check out this video:

What is the weight of a electric handbike ?

Lipo Lomo 16" weight is:

  • With battery: 15.65 k.
  • Without batteries for transport: 13,75 kg.
  • Without batteries or easels: 13.30 kg.
  • Battery: 1.9 kg.

Lipo Lomo Micro (with wheel 12"), 14.95 kg with batteries.

How much time does it take to charge a battery

  • Battery 11,6 h with 1.35A charger need 8,6 hours  
  • Battery 11,6 h with 2.35A charger needs 4,9 hours
  • Battery 8,3 h with 1.35A charger needs 6,1 hours
  • Battery 8,3 h with 2.35A charger need 3,5 hours

 

Can I choose different wheel sizes?

With Lipo Lomo you can choose between 12", 16" or 20" wheel. 

About Electrodrive, you have 16" and 20" wheel.

What is a Stricke handbike?

Basically it is a third wheel, driven by cranks or motor. The Bike gets mounted in the front of your own chair, raising the annoying front wheels and turning the chair into a handbike of three wheels in just a few seconds. The main advantage is that our handbikes are attachable to the chair itself, so the user never has to switch the wheelchair or needs any adapaters or mounts. The Stricker Handbikes are adapted seconds and the user is able to ride.

 

Where is the production?

The Stricker handbike are manufactured in Bühl (Germany). The first Stricker Handbike was developed in 1989 and since then, with the help of thousands of users who already enjoy them, the product has evolved with small and large improvements from a simple bike to almost a work of engineering. Usually yes. The best opportunity is visiting us or one of our distributors on a exhibition. Please check the distributors website for more informations about exhibitions in your country. Whats the Price of a Handbike?

Depending on the model and the characteristics the price varies. Please ask the distributor of your country for prices.

 

guarantee?

The guarantee is  2 years on the handbikes as well as on the Lipo and Neodrives battery.

Not included are abrasion defects or defects caused by incorrect handling. spare parts are for example: tyres, brake pads, bowden cables, bulbs, lead batteries etc.. Spare parts are not included for guarantee cases! On lead batteries we grant 1/2 year warranty.

 

Do I need a special wheelchair for using a Stricker Handbike?

No, regarding to our adjustable frame and the clamp-system, our Handbikes are compatible to any chair with a fixed footrest. If you have a removable footrest we can provide you with an adapter.

 

Do I need any extra accessory to mount a handbike Stricker on my Wheelchair?

If your rigid or folding wheelchair has a fixed footrest you do not need any extra accessory. If the wheelchair has a removable footrest, then yes. For this case we have adaptors.

 

How to lift the front wheels of the wheelchair?

Through ingenious automatic catch: You push the Handbike slightly on the handle on top and the clatches are activated. Now the Wheelchair front wheels are moved away from the bottom. This systems allows also people with limitation in the arms to raise the front wheels without any problems.

 

What is a Kickstand?

Kickstands are removable aluminum tubes that are connected on the Handbikes corners. After disconnecting your Handbike the Kickstands ensure that your bike stands and is accessible the next time you like to use it.

 

There are three options of kickstands: without wheels (series), with unidirectional wheels and spinning wheels 360º.

 

What are steering damper?

They are keeping the direction of the wheel straight when the handle is released. They are very important for a comfortable and safe driving.

What are the Tetra adaptations?

Everyone aims to have an optimal experience while driving Handbike. Therefore, we offer adaptations that allow a safe and comfortable ride. Depending on the Handbike model, we can customize the bike and add adapations.

Are there handbikes for children?

Yes, the manual model City Kid. Furthermore all City models have the option for Youth equimpent, this contains shorter cranks, tubes and more.

Can I travel with a Handbike on a train, bus or plane?

In the case of the plane: Let your Airline know that you wheelchair has 2 parts (the wheelchair and the Handbike). You will get 2 identification labels. During the boarding process in front of the planes door the staff will handle to stow your Handbike and Wheelchair in the plane and help you move to the skychair.

Keep in mind that: Batteries are only allow with a capacity of 8,3 Ah (300 W/h). Check the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for further informations.
